I am the managing director of Rhomberg Holding GmbH and am already the fourth generation to head the Rhomberg Group. The name Rhomberg stands for sustainable construction as well as sustainable mobility and resource productivity. With a holistic approach in the three business areas of construction, railway technology and resources, we not only pursue sustainable principles, but also set standards. These take into account the entire life cycle of buildings, infrastructure and people and include resource-conserving processes. Numerous awards, from the "Most Family-Friendly Company in Vorarlberg" (2007, 2011) to the "VCÖ Mobility Award" (2004 and 2006) to the "Best Employer in the Construction Industry" (2005) and 7th place in the "Austria's Best Employer" competition (2012) bear witness to the fact that it is our view of the big picture that makes us exceptionally successful as a company.
After graduating with a degree in engineering from the Vienna University of Technology, I worked for Strabag in Linz and Vienna for three years before starting my career in the family business in 1998 as head of the civil engineering department and expanding the railway engineering division. In addition, I supplemented my practical entrepreneurial knowledge with postgraduate studies in business management at the renowned HSG St. Gallen.
I am also actively involved in research projects (LifeCycleTower, ...), travel the world as a lecturer on the topics of "resource productivity", "mobility" and "sustainable business", and drive forward projects for sustainable mobility such as the Ring Tram, the Wälderexpress or the Hyperloop.
In addition, I am head of the Vorarlberg regional office of the Austrian Transport Science Society (ÖVG), vice-president of the Vorarlberg Federation of Industry, president of the Bregenz Transport Association, board member of the Austrian Society for Sustainable Real Estate Management and board member of the Energy Academy.
In 2015, my book "Bauen 4.0 - Vom Ego- zum Lego-Prinzip" was published.
